FAQ's

Over the years we have been asked many questions by our customers and so we hope the following frequently asked questions will help you.

How do I pick a wedding album?

There are many different options when choosing a wedding album from Heritage. The first thing to think about is the size of your photos if they are already printed or the size you will print them at as this will determine what size of page you need. If you have 5”x7” photos you could choose a small wedding album and if you have say 8”x10” as preferred by professional photographers then you will need an album with larger pages. You can choose from card weight paper pages which require sticky photo mounts, self-adhesive pages where you just place the photos easily on the sticky page or slip-in albums that you just slide the photo inside a mount and it’s in place. For the cover you can choose from a range of materials in various colours including leather and silk effect as examples. Lastly you can choose our standard free wording like ‘Our Wedding’ on the cover or you can personalise the album with your own names and date of the wedding as an example. If you’re still unsure, please browse our range and see which styles you like more. Our experts are also on-hand to help guide you.

How many photos should you put in a wedding album?

The number of photos you put in your album will depend on how many you think are good enough to mount in the album. Our professional photographers generally mount the best 40 to 80 photos in a bride and grooms wedding albums and maybe 30 to 60 in a parent’s wedding album. Our small albums come with 30 sheets for 30 photos or 60 if you mount them on the front and back to larger albums with 40 sheets or 80 sides for 40 or 80 8”x10” photos.

How do I create a professional wedding album?

To create a professional looking wedding album, we would recommend using at least 8”x10” inch size large glossy photos, say 40 to 80 of these. Then having chosen your album we would suggest you use our double sided multimount tape to stick your photos into the album. Before mounting your photos sort, them into the order you want to display them. Start at the back and work your way forwards so as you mount more photos you will get a bit better each time. One of the standout features of a professional looking wedding is having the bride and grooms name and date of wedding embossed on the cover, this not only makes it professional looking but also makes it unique to you only! Finally, as the album comes complete with a high quality keep safe gift box it’s a perfect professional package.

Are wedding albums worth it?

Professional wedding photographers are expensive and purchasing and printing photos can be so it is vital you keep them stored correctly on PH balanced acid free pages with glassine interleaves to protect the photos from sticking to each other, also as they are in an album they won’t bend or come into contact with light and moisture which could degrade the photographs over time. This is where our range of wedding albums comes into play, make your wedding snaps last a lifetime. Something to show for multiple generations.

Which wedding albums are best?

Wedding albums that have proper acid-free PH balanced pages are essential which our traditional wedding albums feature, the tissue interleaves also protect your photos so make sure that your album has these as well. After that is comes down to the individuals tastes but our personal favourites are the traditional wedding albums and leather wedding albums as they are timeless classics and they will help protect your cherished wedding photos for many years to come.
